Calacatta Macchia Vecchia
Marmi Classici Collection
Crema Marfil
The concept for this apartment stemmed from minimalist ideas inspired by luxurious contemporary designs. Focusing on the selection of specific elements, premium finishes, and the placement of purposeful lighting, architect Sami Bumbu ingeniously creates a space that focuses on the connection between the natural materials and the carefully selected pieces in each room.
Using the seamless and minimalist color schemes, he highlights the natural beauty of the porcelain tiles from Ariostea's Marmi Classici collection. And with the strategically placed lighting fixtures, the realistic veining, subtle patterns, and marble-like aesthetics from the tiles are brought out.

The kitchen and dining area uses the combination between the Calacatta Macchia Vecchia tiles and different shades of light gray and white complemented by the purposefully placed lighting that outlines the overhead cabinets and reflective surfaces behind the countertops.

While both bathrooms share the same concept of space and function, they are differentiated by the material pairings used for the flooring and walls. This first bathroom pictured on the left highlights the reflective finishing on the Calacatta Macchia Vecchia surface through clear white lights surrounding the walls.
The various reflective surfaces like the glass panels, mirrors, and the tiles themselves create multiple shadows around the room which gives an illusion of depth.

The second bathroom has a warmer feel because of the Crema Marfil tiles contrasted by the mostly white color scheme. The uniform design of the neutral tone marmi classici tile pairs well together with the clear & streamlined look of the rest of the room, creating a welcoming environment.
The wall-mounted toilet also helps accentuate the flooring.
